Knockout Xmas Classic - Breaking Down 100-110
Part 1 of many from the Women’s Christmas Classic
We have begun uploading video from the finals, but thought that a quick breakdown of how each weight class played out would also be appropriate. We do not have video from every final, but the ones we do will be embedded in each of the posts.
100 lb. Seeds:
Zoey Haney (Troy Buchanan, MO)

Kiera Partello (Barron Collier, FL)
Aniyah Whayne (Osceola, FL)
Sophie Booe (Palm Harbor, FL)
Emerson Webber (Hernando, FL)
Madison Carroll (Gulf Breeze, FL)
Lily Bradshaw (Middleburg, FL)
Top seed (and #11 in the country) Zoey Haney dominated the top side of the bracket with a fall and 2 technical falls to reach the semis opposite Sophie Booe of Palm Harbor (Booe downed Whayne - the 4 seed - 2-0 in the quarters.
Georgia State Runner-up Breanna Higgins dominated the bottom side of the bracket with 3 falls to reach the semifinals opposite the 3 seed in Kiera Partello. Partello had a battle with Emerson Webber (a 1-0 decision) in the quarters to advance.
Backside: Paola Perez showed she should’ve been seeded as she won 4 in a row to take 3rd … her only loss coming to Haney in the Round of 16. Perez beat Whayne, Partello, and Webber on the backside.
Finals: Unfortunately this is one of the weights we do not have video. Haney was superb on her feet and tough on bottom to avoid Higgins power half. Haney had takedowns in both the 1st and 2nd periods and cruised to a 6-2 win.

105 lb. Seeds:
Camdyn Elliott (Gulf Breeze, FL)

Mia Parker (Sunlake, FL)
Madison Haney (Troy Buchanan, MO)
Skyler Randolph (Riverdale, FL)
Brooke VanEtten (Jensen Beach, FL)
Gabriela Kerber (Cypress Bay, FL)
2024 State Runner-up Camdyn Elliott handled the top side with relative ease. She had 2 tech falls and a major decision to reach the semis opposite 5 seed Madison Haney. She was up big on Haney (10-0 in the 2nd period) when she got the fall to punch her ticket to the finals.
2024 State Champion Joslyn Johnson had a tougher time on the bottom side … as she drew Erin Rizzuto of Ponte Vedra in the semis. Both Johnson and Rizzuto dominated their early matches and the semifinal was one to watch with Johnson coming out on top 13-10 in sudden victory. Keep an eye on Rizzuto as she will look to rebound from her 3rd place finish and make a run for a state title in a couple of months.
Backside: Rizzuto pinned Ruiz and Haney to take 3rd with the other semifinalist (Haney) downing Randolph to reach the consolation finals. Yhoalibeth Ruiz had a great run on the backside before running into Rizzuto (again).

110 lb. Seeds:

Kendal Haynie (Wakulla, FL)
Natalia Choquegonza (Ponte Vedra, FL)
Rebekkah Kinkade (South Dade, FL)
Rickkyuna Wilson (Lincoln Park, FL)
Defending State Champion Mills dominated the top side with 3 falls before earning a 16-1 technical fall of Kendal Haynie in the semis. Returning State Runner-up Abigail Gonzalez was equally as impressive on the bottom side with 2 falls before pinning Hernando’s Kiki Bush in the semis. This final was one of the most anticipated finals on the women’s side and it did not disappoint. Backside: Wakulla freshman Kendal Haynie was impressive in both of her wins to take 3rd. Haynie downed Natalia Choquegonza 11-4 before taking out Bush 9-5.
